‘Octet’, Photo Hastings, The Crypt, St Mary’s in the Castle, Hastings, (2016)

For the past five years I have been engaged on an artistic research project entitled ‘A Ship of One’s Own’. The outcome of this research is a body of photographic works made on a series of voyages to the high arctic. The works in this exhibition are a selection of photographs I made on the voyage around Scoresby Sound, Greenland on board the Icelandic sailing ship (electric) SS OPAL owned by North Sailing in September 2016 . I used the portholes as the lens of the ship, and a hand-held mirror that reflects both what is present and already past.
